Newly Incorporated City, Parish Court System

St. George became a city in 2024, making it one of Louisiana's newest incorporated municipalities. Despite the incorporation, no separate city court system has been set up yet. All criminal court records for St. George residents and cases originating in the St. George area are filed and maintained through the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court and the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge.

This is important to know when searching for records: you are looking for East Baton Rouge Parish filings, not a separate St. George city court. The city continues to develop its governing structure, and that may change over time. But for now, any search for St. George criminal court records goes through EBR Parish.

Under La. R.S. 44:1 and La. R.S. 44:32(A), any adult can request criminal court records from the clerk without providing a reason or having a legal connection to the case. Records that have been sealed or expunged are not available publicly.
